Wardruna
Het langverwachte nieuwe album van de Noorse dark folk-band Wardruna is er! Kvitravn (“Witte Raaf”) markeert een nieuw hoofdstuk in de evolutie van Wardruna’s sound – die je gerust mag interpreteren als duister magisch en onheilspellend intens. Op het album hoor je een waaier aan Scandinavische traditionele en historische instrumenten zoals de Kravik-lyre, Trossingen-lyre, Tagilharpa, Sotharpa, Langeleik, Crwth, Goat-horn, Lur, Bronze-lur, Moraharpa en meer.
Elf songs lang neemt Wardruna je op Kvitravn mee op een tocht langs Noorse tovenarij, spirit animals, donkere schaduwen, natuur en animisme. De wijsheid en betekenis van mythes, Noorse spiritualiteit en de relatie tussen sagen en songs liggen aan de basis van dit bezwerende album. En bezweren zal Wardruna in OLT Rivierenhof doen! Verwacht een show vol straffe visuals, landschappen en symbolische dieren. Of zoals frontman Einar Selvik het omschrijft: “To climb the Healing-mountain is a journey for the mind and spirit as much as the feet and body. Anything of true value, comes at a true cost”. Je houdt je dus maar beter vast aan de takken van de bomen.
